"Teeter Totter" by Trevor Pottelberg, features a Mother Red Fox with her baby kit, posed at sunset on one end of a long piece of rustic barn board. A heavy stone acts as an anchor on the opposite end of the board, catching the curiousity of the young kit.
My first thought when seeing this scene through the viewfinder, was that these two were on a schoolyard teeter totter and that the kit had the choice of joining his mom or moving closer to the block. You'll be happy to know that it stayed with its mom.
This image has a hand painted feel. This is in part due to the natural lighting in the scene. The image was shot at a very high ISO (12,800) and required some noise reduction. The result is the painterly look you see here.
