LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY 101 WORKSHOP

APRIL 20, 2018

10 Spots remaining

Join me for a two hour in class afternoon presentation and a three hour guided sunset into twilight shoot along the northern Lake Erie shoreline where we will visit one of my favourite sunset shooting locations in Southwestern, Ontario.

Located approximately 2 hours southwest of Toronto, this area of the province offers a wonderful opportunity to capture photographs of the setting sun and Lake Erie shoreline.

MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS:  10 (a number of 6 participants is needed to run the workshop)

I like to keep my groups small, ensuring a lot of one on one instructing.  When you walk away from this workshop, my goal is to have you feeling much better about your photography abilities and to capture some amazing shots to show off to your friends and family.

• Cost: $150 CAD per participant

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Easy to Moderate (a 10 - 15 minute hike is required on uneven sandy ground )

YOU WILL LEARN ABOUT:

- Basic gear to get you started

- Importance of pre-scouting locations

- Calculating proper exposure (ISO, Shutter Speed & Aperture)

- Working with histograms

- How to find critical focus resulting in sharp images

- How to capture the setting sun and colourful sky

- Using filters for maximum effect

Shooting long exposures during the "blue" twilight hour

- Useful phone apps

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Beginner to intermediate owners of interchangeable lens DSLR or mirrorless cameras who would like to learn how to creatively capture evening photographs under the guidance of a nationally accredited instructor.  A basic understanding of ISO, Shutter Speed & Aperture is recommended.  You do not need to run out and buy the latest and most expensive camera on the market.  It should however, be able to shoot in M (Manual Mode) and allow for full manual override of things such as iso, aperture, shutter speed, white balance and focus

I would highly recommend that you bring a tripod, as hand holding the camera will result in poor, unsharp images.

If you are unsure as to whether or not you have the proper gear, please send an email to info@trevorpottelberg.com with any questions or concerns.

Evenings can become quite chilly, especially in Spring and Fall, so please ensure that you dress for the occasion. Your camera batteries also drain quicker in the colder weather, so fully charged spares are definitely recommended.
