The Artist - Trevor Pottelberg
Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, with its abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife, Trevor Pottelberg has always harbored a love for the great outdoors, a passion that eventually manifested itself through his scenic landscape photography.
Trevor graduated from Fanshawe College in 2000, with diplomas in both Photography and Advanced Photography. During his enrollment in the program, Trevor won many outstanding achievement awards for his landscape work. After graduating, he launched a photography business under the name of Pottelberg Photography. He and his wife Cara would go on to successfully photograph hundreds of weddings and families over a 15 year span.
In December of 2013, Trevor decided that it was time for a change of pace and took his passion for scenic photography to the next level, launching Trevor Pottelberg – Fine Art Photography. He rapidly built up a worldwide following and his work now graces the walls of many homes, offices and business establishments.
Trevor joined the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) in February of 2014. Since then, he has had 28 images accepted and exhibited into the salon at both Provincial and National levels. He has earned National Accreditation in Nature, Fine Art, Pictorial and Night Photography. In addition, Trevor has earned such prestigious awards as the 2015 Best in Class Award for all of Canada in the Pictorial category, Judges Choice Award in the 2015 PPOC-Ontario Image Salon, Best Out of Province Award in the 2015 PPOC-Manitoba Image Salon, two Judges Choice Awards at the 2016 PPOC-Ontario Image Salon and is currently in the running for the prestigious PPOC award – “2017 Canadian Photographic Artist of the Year”.
To capture his images, Trevor often travels to the same location multiple times in search of the right light and atmosphere. His work transports the viewer into the scene, leaving a deeper appreciation of the natural beauty that surrounds us all.
